Importing or exporting goods and cargo by air is highly preferred for its advantages.
Advantages of Air Freight:
Speed
It is the fastest means of transportation.
Reliability
It has the lowest percentage of cargo losses or breakage.
No geographical barriers
It is possible to travel anywhere without limitations, choosing the shortest and most direct route across seas or mountains.
Wide Coverage
Distant places that are unreachable by other means of transport are also easily accessible.
DRAYAGE
Drayage is the process of transporting goods over short distances. It is a trucking service that connects the different modes of shipping such as ocean freight or air freight. It includes a short-haul trip that transports goods from one place to another either before or after a long-haul shipping process.
Drayage trucks move cargo to and from various destinations, such as container ships, storage lots, order fulfilment warehouses and rail yards.
Full Truckload (FTL)
Full Truck Load or (FTL) transport is perfect for transporting huge amounts of goods. Booking a full truck load simplifies the transporting process making it faster as the goods are delivered from the sender to the recipient directly.
FTL transport is an excellent logistic solution for distributors of products that have shorter shelf life such as food, where a longer delivery may have a negative impact on the quality of the transported goods.
FTL is also convenient for businesses that require transportation of large loads having considerable weight.
As the FTL booking includes paying for the entire cargo area, you can rest assured that your consignment will be transported and delivered seamlessly.
Less than Truck Load (LTL)
If you have smaller consignments or lesser goods to transport, you can avail the Less Than Truck Load (LTL) option. This option is also known as PTL (Partial Load), or Groupage Transport as the available cargo space is divided between the different senders. This kind of transportation takes longer than FTL as the consignments have to be delivered at various designated points and cannot reach your chosen destination directly.
Only goods with a longer shelf life whose value does not decline with time should be transported using LTL. This option is perfect for those whose consignments are too heavy to be sent by a courier and too small to qualify for FTL transport. It is also suitable and cost-effective for shipments that don’t require fast delivery or when goods have to be sent to different addressees. It can also be used for small shipments that can be packed together and placed on pallets.
Reefers
Reefer containers are used for shipping of temperature-sensitive cargo. These special containers have a refrigeration unit that is connected to the power supply on board the ship. Goods such as fruits & vegetables, meat, fish (fresh or frozen), milk & dairy products, juice & concentrate, flowers, medicines, pharmaceuticals and chocolate are often transported in reefer containers.
HazMat Cargo
HazMat stands for ‘hazardous material.’ This includes any dangerous substance or material that could pose an unreasonable risk to health, safety and property while being transported in commerce. Such dangerous goods have to be specially handled to reduce the risks posed by them with the right packaging, communication, handling, and stowage.
WAREHOUSING & TRANSLOADING
Warehousing is required when cargo has to be stored at a place temporarily before they are shipped to their final destination. Warehouses accommodate and meet various needs such as transloading, long & short term storage, consolidation, repackaging and palletizing.

FFC is connected with a network of warehouses across all ports and several other major cities with rail ramps. All these warehouses are insured, secure and use state of the art facilities to ensure your cargo is safe.
Whether you require transload or storage, our team is ready to assist you at every step. You can rest assured that your cargo and merchandise will be secure at all times.

Transloading is a process of moving a shipment from one mode of transport to another such as moving from an ocean container to truck or rail. It involves picking up a container from the port, bringing it to a warehouse, unloading it, and then reloading the cargo into a truck for final delivery.

You can choose between dry vans and flatbed trailers based on the dimensions, weight capacity, how each trailer is loaded, and what it can carry.
Dry Vans
Dry vans come in a different configurations, such as the 53 feet long, 13′ 6” high (exterior), and 102” wide.
There are other variations, including 48-foot trailers and smaller 28-foot trailers too.
The standard weight capacity for a dry van is 45,000 pounds maximum. It is lower for shorter dry vans.
Flatbeds
Flatbeds are a little shorter than dry vans at 48 feet. Most are standard-height flatbeds, 58”, which matches up with most loading docks. Specialty flatbed types include the step-deck or single-drop trailer, which has a single step and a low deck height for shipping items, either 8′ 6” or 10 feet tall, depending on the amount of drop.
The double-drop trailer, or lowboy, also has a low deck design that allows you to carry taller freight legally. If you have cargo taller than the 10-foot restriction, you need special permission for a tall or oversized load. A flatbed trailer’s standard weight capacity is 48,000 pounds, whether it’s a single- or double-drop trailer or a standard-size flatbed.
Transportation of 20'/40'/40 HC Containers
Shipping containers are an indispensable part of transportation of goods especially through waterways, roads and railways. Based on structural integrity, design, weight distribution and weight to volume ratio, each type of container is designed to carry a specific type of cargo.
20′ containers can carry cargo that has more weight rather than volume, such as minerals, metals, machinery, steel coils, cement, paper, sugar, etc.
40′ containers are designed to carry cargo with more volume rather than weight. Such cargo includes cotton, tobacco, furniture, paper scrap, steel pipes, etc.
IMPORTER SECURITY FILING
An Importer Security Filing (ISF) is required by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) especially when a shipment is being imported to the United States via ocean. Also known as “10+2” the ISF is a filing required by the CBP that documents importing information and details, as shipments pass from point to point.
The ISF must be transmitted at least 24 hours prior to an ocean's shipment's departure to the United States. Importers who don’t file the ISF prior to the shipment of goods will attract a fine of $5,000.
CUSTOMS FILING & CLEARANCE
Customs clearance is an essential procedure for the transportation of goods to a country.
Authorized customs brokers are agents who assist importers with the transaction of customs business.
A customs broker has to be licensed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to organize custom entries, payment of duties, and how this process may be affected by CBP discharges goods from custody.
FFC is an authorized customs broker licensed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
CUSTOMS EXAMS COORDINATION
Customs are responsible today for monitoring security risks and protecting the country while also preventing smuggling or misvaluation.

Customs cargo inspectors use a targeting system that applies a score to each shipment. If the score is above a certain number, it triggers further review and possibly an exam. Based on the data and subsequent score CBP may then put a variety of holds on the shipment for further action before it can be released or possibly detained.
